After working at a hagwon for a year, I finally made the switch to public school. From the first emails exchanged with my Korvia recruiter, I felt much more reassured that the GEPIK process would go more smoothly than my previous year. My recruiter answered all of my questions and met all of my requests for my new position.

Working at my previous hagwon was not a horrible experience (like some of the nightmare stories I've heard!), but having to figure out immigration documents,  taxes and pension plans singlehandedly (as my boss didn't speak English) was beyond frustrating. In the end, I do appreciate all I learned about teaching and Korean customs at my hagwon, but working with a recruiter who cares about you personally makes all the difference.
